Well, I am originally from Pennsylvania. We moved to Florida about 6 or so years ago now. My husband came home one day and said "Hey, you want to move to Florida?" There was no hesitation in my answer.

First we moved to a small island off the West Coast called North Captiva Island, or Upper Captiva as the locals call it. It was a small private island resort with no cars and no paved roads. You got around on foot, bike or golf cart. It was nice in the beginning, go to work and then hang out on the deserted beaches. But we climbed the "work ladder" and more work had developed for us. There were only a handful of restaurants and one bar that stayed open until 8 or 9 if you were lucky. It is a very beautiful island to visit and get away from it all -- on vacation.

During our first visit to Key West with my in-laws, we fell in love with the town! So much to do and so many restaurants to eat at! I am a self-proclaimed foodie! Love to cook, but there's just something about going out for a nice meal!

We've been living in Key West for 3 years now and still love it! There's always something new to find here with all the small lanes and alleyways with restaurants hidden in them.

5 Things you didn't know about me
  1. I love horror movies. Specifically ones about cannibalism or insane asylums.
  2. I have an unhealthy obsession with bottles and jars.
  3. Sushi for breakfast, lunch and dinner would be amazing!
  4. If I had the space I would adopt every single unwanted pet.
  5.  I have my septum pierced, but you would never know because I constantly have the retainer in.

ABOUT THE BLOG
I started this blog to share Key West with those who have never seen it, been here and love it and those that probably never will visit because they prefer colder weather. Here you will see Key West from my point of view. You will see the beautiful beaches, palm trees and history of Key West. I will share photos of trips to the forts scattered around the island, experiences at new and old restaurants, you will attend the many functions and fundraisers we have for each other here - we are a loving community and enjoy helping our friends and other fellow islanders who have hit a hard time in their life. ONE HUMAN FAMILY!
